    I'm most likely making an over the top situation about this but I DON'T CARE!!!
About 3 months ago, I wrote an email to Patrick Stump (via myspace) asking him how someone like me would break into the music industry. Of course I didn't expect a reply. I mean come on, how many email's must that guy or any of them get from fans like me asking those kind of questions!?! Well, today I got a reply personaly from Mr. Stump.
*insert fan girl scream here*
He gave me some great advice and all I can say is thank you very much.

  • Wow

    Wow, that guy's my inspiration, for every single thing I'm doing in my life right now. He's a musical genius.

    If you don't mind me asking, what advice did he give you? You see, I'm in a band and we're trying to get big, so y'know xD

      here's a copy of the email
      I know it only took me 3 months to get back to you but here goes. If you're trying to be a musician... self promotion and hitting the street is the biggest thing. The more people that see you (assuming you rock) the better chance you have. Even more importantly, study your craft! If you are trying to get in the industry for something else (management, promotion, label suits) go to college and then work your ass off to get an internship in LA or NYC. Start at the bottom and work hard! make friends with everyone you work with and they will help you however they can. The other option is to marry rich and buy your way in... I go for the first two though;)
      Hope it helps

        Whoa, thanks.

        I guess me and my friend are gonna have to stop procrastinating and get saving. My mum got all pissed because apparently I'm amazingly smart and I'm throwing it away to get into the music industry.

        Rambling, sorry ^^;

          I hear ya! My parents give me the same speech. They didn't believe me when I told them I got the email.
